Ryan Reynolds is on board Netflix's Eloise, with newcomer Mae Schenk also joining the film. Amy Sherman-Palladino, creator of shows like Gilmore Girls and The Marvelous Ms Maisel, has written and directed Eloise.

The film is based on the books written by Kay Thompson and illustrated by Hilary Knight. Sherman-Palladino has written the film along with Hannah Marks and Linda Woolverton. Molly Milstein is serving as an executive producer for the film. MRC is collaborating with the Thompson estate, illustrator Knight, as well as Simon & Schuster, the book series’ publisher, on the film. Handmade Films is also partnering with MRC for Eloise.

While the story line for the film is yet to be revealed, Schenk will essay the titular character with Reynolds playing the antagonist.

Reynolds was last seen as the Merc with the Mouth, Deadpool, in Deadpool and Wolverine, alongside Hugh Jackman, who returned as James Howlett/Logan/Wolverine. The film was directed by Shawn Levy, in his third collaboration with Reynolds after Free Guy and The Adam Project.
