Tom Cruise ends Mission: Impossible speculation, wants to make films until his 100s

Tom Cruise, who has lately been busy making franchise films, emphasised his desire to get back to doing films of different genres again

Tom Cruise has laid to rest speculation about whether Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning would be last outing as IMF agent Ethan Hunt. Speaking to The Hollywood Reporter at the film's premiere in New York, Cruise said, "It’s the final! It’s not called ‘final’ for nothing." Cruise was also asked about how long he would continue making films, and the actor replied, saying, "into my 100s". The eight film in the Mission: Impossible franchise received a standing ovation at its New York premiere. Earlier, Cruise's stunt work drew plaudits at the Cannes Film Festival as well.

Tom Cruise, who has lately been busy making franchise films, emphasised his desire to get back to doing films of different genres again. "I will never stop. I will never stop doing action, I will never stop doing drama, comedy films — I’m excited," he said. The actor has a yet-to-be-titled film with Birdman director Alejandro G Inarritu next.

Recently, he expressed his desire to make Indian films, inspired by Bollywood-style musicals. He also said that he would like to make sequels for Days of Thunder and Top Gun: Maverick.
