Filmmaker Coz Greenop is reuniting with Jack McEvoy after It All Comes With the Cold Water for the romantic drama The Last Memaid. Directed by Greenop from his own screenplay, the film stars Jessica Truong in a lead role alongside McEvoy, reports Deadline. Production on the film, with science-fiction elements, has been completed in Vietnam. Greenop, the director best known for The Last Heist, also produces the film along with Donny Chen and Christina de la Sala. The production banners include Mont Fort Films and the writer-director's Green 13 Films.

The Last Memaid follows a grieving writer (McEvoy) who falls in love with a woman (Truong) with a dark secret as he explores Vietnam. As per a statement from the makers, Vietnamese Film Commission offered considerable support to the making of the film.

"Shooting this film in Vietnam was simultaneously the most breathtakingly beautiful experience and the most physically taxing project I’ve ever completed," said Greenop. "Working with two actors like Jack and Jessica was a sheer pleasure," the filmmaker added.

Truong, the erstwhile Miss Vietnam based in Los Angeles, is known for her role in the series The Sympathizer. Her credits also include How to Fight in Six Inch Heels and Wifey, Where Are You? On the other hand, singer-actor McEvoy is most popular for Vikings.
