Captain America: Brave New World, 2025’s first Marvel film, is all set to premiere on JioHotstar on May 28. The film hit theatres on February 14 and opened to mixed reviews. It has grossed $415 million worldwide, becoming the fourth-highest-grossing film of 2025, so far.

The Julius Onah directorial stars Anthony Mackie as Sam Wilson/Captain America, Harrison Ford as American President Thaddeus Ross/Red Hulk, Danny Ramirez as Joaquin Torres/Falcon, and Carl Lumbly as former Super Soldier/Captain America Isaiah Bradley.

The plot of Captain America: Brave New World follows a former scientist-turned-prisoner at a military facility (Tim Blake Nelson) coming back to settle an old score. When Japan declines to take part in a global peace treaty proposal from Ross, it leads to a situation of potential warfare between the nations, necessitating Wilson’s involvement.

An excerpt from CE's review of Captain America: Brave New World reads, "The film frequently mines humour from its material to offer consistently engaging, albeit mild, entertainment."

Captain America: Brave New World is the first film in the MCU to not feature Chris Evans in the titular role. The film has a screenplay by Rob Edwards, Malcolm Spellman, Dalan Musson, Onah, and Peter Glanz, and a story from the former three.
