Joshua Orpin, known for his roles in the DC Universe series Titans (2019–2023) and the TV soap opera Home and Away has confirmed that he is a part of the upcoming much-anticipated I Know What You Did Last Summer sequel, directed by Jennifer Kaytin Robinson.

He took to his Instagram handle and wrote, "I know I've been entirely absent from social media recently (sorry). I've simply been too busy reminiscing! As the seasons come and go, it can be tough to keep track. The thing is, I just cannot for the life of me recall what I was doing last Summer. Thank goodness I know what you'll all be doing this Summer," while sharing the official poster for the film which is slated for release by Sony Pictures on July 18 this year.

He will join previously announced cast members Chase Sui Wonders, Madelyn Cline, Sarah Pidgeon, Tyriq Withers, Jonah Hauer-King, Lola Tung, Nicholas Alexander Chavez, Austin Nichols, and Gabbriette. Freddie Prinze Jr. and Jennifer Love Hewitt reprise their roles as Ray Bronson and Julie James.

The script has been co-written by Robinson and Sam Lansky, based on an earlier draft by Leah McKendrick. Neal Moritz is producing the sequel.

The original film revolved around four friends (played by Prinze Jr., Hewitt, Sarah Michelle Gellar, and Ryan Phillippe) who are terrorised by a hook-wielding stalker after a tragic accident in their seaside town. Based loosely on Lois Duncan's novel, the success of the film led to the 1998 sequel, I Still Know What You Did Last Summer. A third film, I’ll Always Know What You Did Last Summer (2006), was a stand-alone installment with a different storyline and cast.
