Dexter: Resurrection is continuing to lining up its star cast. Actors Jimmy Smits, who has played Miguel Prado in the original, is returning play his role in the upcoming series.
Smits earned an Emmy nomination for his Season 3 performance as Prado, the ADA-turned-lawbreaker hellbent on revenge. The character has also appeared in the spin-off Original Sin, played by Nick Santucci.
In Dexter: Ressurrection, Michael C Hall will be returning to play the lead role as the infamous titular character Dexter Morgan. Along with him, John Lithgow, David Zayas, Jack Alcott, and James Remar will also reprise their iconic roles as series regulars, returning as Trinity Killer, Angel Batista, Harrison Morgan, and Harry Morgan, respectively.
Joining them for the series are Uma Thurman, Peter Dinklage, Neil Patrick Harris, Krysten Ritter, Eric Stonestreet, and David Dastmalchian.
Apart from starring in the lead, Hall will also serve as the narrator as he did in all of the previous series including the recently-completed prequel series Dexter: Original Sin which has Patrick Gibson in the lead role. The series concluded its first season, 10-episode run on February 14. The show has been filming in New York since January.
Dexter: Resurrection is a follow-up to the 2021 Dexter: New Blood and is set in the present day. The series will be released in the summer of 2025. Further details regarding the plot have been kept under wraps.
Clyde Phillips (Dexter, Dexter: Original Sin) returns as showrunner and executive producer for Dexter: Resurrection, which is produced by Showtime Studios and Counterpart Studios. Michael C Hall (Dexter, Six Feet Under) also serves as an executive producer, alongside Scott Reynolds (Jessica Jones), Tony Hernandez (Emily in Paris), and Lilly Burns (Russian Doll), with Marcos Siega (Dexter: New Blood) taking on the role of producing director.
Monica Raymund (Dexter: Original Sin) will direct four episodes, while Siega will direct six. The series will be distributed by Paramount Global Content Distribution.
