Yeon Sang-ho, the director of the celebrated zombie film Train to Busan, his Hellbound co-writer Choi Gyu-seok, and Alfonso Cuaron have joined hands for Revelations, a supernatural thriller. The Netflix film is an adaptation of Choi Gyu-seok's eponymous comic, and it stars Ryu Jun-yeol, Shin Min-jae, and Shin Hyun-been.

According to the official synopsis, Revelations follows "a pastor who believes in divine revelation and a detective haunted by visions pursue a missing person case—exposing their own demons in the process."

Guy-seok told Netflix, that his co-writer and director "Yeon Sang-ho suggested creating a story about faith and beliefs, the themes that have interested him for a long time. I was intrigued and thought that we could come up with a fascinating story."

Meanwhile, Sang-ho stated that the film will explore the real, psychological aspects of delusions, traumas, and illusions.

“The story centers on the character psychologies of (Pastor) Sung Min-chan and (Detective) Lee Yeon-hui, who resemble one another, but make very different choices,” Sang-ho stated. “I wanted to create a story about a lead character with egocentric views, someone who sees and believes only what he wants to. I was thinking of such a character through whom I could create a story within the genre, and Sung Min-chan, a pastor of a new church, was born.”

Revelations is slated for a March 21 release on Netflix.
