Robert De Niro's The Whisper Man adds Michelle Monaghan and Adam Scott to cast

Set to be helmed by James Ashcroft, the film is based on The Whisper Man, a New York Times bestseller by Alex North

The White Lotus fame Michelle Monaghan and Severance lead Adam Scott are all set to join Robert De Niro in an upcoming Netflix crime thriller, The Whisper Man.

The Whisper Man will be helmed by James Ashcroft, who has previously directed Coming Home in the Dark. Anthony Russo, Joe Russo, Angela Russo-Otstot, and Michael Disco of AGBO, the banner behind Netflix's The Electric State, are the producers of the upcoming feature.

The Whisper Man is based on Alex North's eponymous New York Times best-seller. When his eight-year-old son is kidnapped, a widowed crime writer seeks the help of his estranged father, a former police detective. As the two dig deeper, the case leads them to 'The Whisper Man,' a convicted serial killer from a ten-year-old case.

While De Niro will be seen as the erstwhile detective, Scott will essay his son, the crime writer. Monaghan will play the lead investigator on the missing children's case. The Whisper Man has a script written by Ben Jacoby and Chase Palmer. The film is set to go on floors on the East Coast, reportedly in New Jersey, between March and May.

While Monaghan can currently be seen in the third season of The White Lotus, she is also known for Apple TV's Bad Monkey and Maxxxine. Scott, on the other hand, earned an Emmy nomination for his performance as Mark Scout, a former history professor and a severed worker for Lumon Industries in Severance. He can be seen in a cameo role in The Monkey, the Osgood Perkins horror film which Is currently running in theatres.
