Dakota Johnson, known for her work in the Fifty Shades of Grey franchise, a trilogy with many intimate scenes, opened up about her collaboration with an intimacy coordinator for her next film. Talking to Amy Poehler on her podcast Good Hang, Johnson said that her intimacy coordinator "was really great" and that "it was so cool" working with the professional because she is "used to" acting in sex scenes. However, regarding her experience working with the coordinator, Johnson said, "It’s not sexy. It doesn’t feel good."

Johnson also spoke about how she deals with the enactment of intimate sequences in her career. "First, I think it depends on, who is the character, and who is the character supposed to be to the audience," she explained. "Is she a super idolized hot girl? Is she a housewife? Is she lonely? Is she scared? Is she conservative? So, that’s obviously character work, but then certain prep would go into it. I want to feel good in my body if I’m showing my body. My mom raised me to be really, really proud of my body and love my body. So, I’ve always felt so grateful for that, especially in my work because I can use it and it feels real."

Dakota Johnson plays a key role in the latest Celine Song directorial, Materialists, alongside Chris Evans and Pedro Pascal. The film follows a New York City-based young woman, who is ambitious about growing in the field of matchmaking and faces a dilemma between her imperfect erstwhile partner and the right match for her.
