Bruce Willis does not remember that he is a highly accomplished actor any longer following the recent progression of his mental health condition, frontotemporal dementia, according to multiple reports. FTD is the name for a group of disorders primarily affecting the parts of the human brain that contribute to human personality, behaviour, and language. According to reports, Willis cannot read, speak or walk due to the recent deterioration of his condition. Willis quit acting in 2022 after his diagnosis for aphasia, a communication disorder and a symptom of FTD. Willis’ family, including spouse Emma Heming Willis and former wife, actor Demi Moore, has been open about his health journey with the aim of raising awareness on FTD.

Willis is best known for his work on films such as the Die Hard franchise, Pulp Fiction, Unbreakable, and The Sixth Sense. The actor’s real-life situation bears a tragic resemblance to his character Malcolm Crowe's state in The Sixth Sense. While Crowe’s unawareness stems from being a ghost and Willis’ from a devastating neurological condition, they both do not know their own fundamental reality because of a cognitive disconnect.
