Brad Pitt to produce and star in David Ayer's Heart of the Beast

Pitt will be seen as a former Army Special Forces soldier who, along with his retired combat dog, struggle to survive the harsh Alaskan wilderness after suffering a plane crash

Actor Brad Pitt is all set to reunite with his Fury (2014) collaborator director David Ayer for Paramount Pictures' action adventure film Heart of the Beast.

The announcement of this new project, backed by Pitt's Plan B Entertainment, came on Saturday.

Their previous collaboration had Pitt as a US Army sergeant spearheading a five-man Sherman tank crew on a perilous mission in the fag end of World War II. This latest project too will have Pitt playing an armed forces personnel, as he will be seen as a former Army Special Forces soldier and his retired combat dog who struggle to survive the harsh Alaskan wilderness after suffering a plane crash.

Written by Cameron Alexander, who is also serving as an executive producer, the film will also be produced by Damien Chazelle and Olivia Hamilton's Wild Chickens Productions banner.

Last seen in action comedy film Wolfs, along with George Clooney, Pitt has Bong Joon-ho's sci-fi black comedy Mickey 17 that is set for a release on March 7 and is filming for Joseph Kosinski's sports action drama F1.
