Stars Collective, a company that invests in media and technology, is venturing into animation with a new adaptation of Antoine de Saint-Exupéry's timeless classic, The Little Prince. The company has joined forces with El Pajaro Pictures in Shanghai to make, produce, and release a fresh perspective on the beloved novel.

This ambitious project looks to combine the poignant story of the young prince's journey with the life of its author, Saint-Exupéry, from 1940 to 1944. The animation will employ a unique hybrid style, combining 2D watercolour methods with the aesthetics of 3D oil paintings.

Leading this endeavour is Li Jihong, a renowned figure in Chinese literary circles. Li, the man behind the Chinese translation of The Little Prince, will spearhead the project. "The new animation movie will tell the entangling and intriguing story of the author and his masterpiece," stated Li.

The film project has gained the official approval of POMASE, the organisation responsible for safeguarding Saint-Exupéry's legacy. POMASE's president Olivier d'Agay expressed his enthusiasm, stating, that Antoine de Saint Exupéry's family has been considering a Chinese animation film adapted from The Little Prince for some time now, given the book's immense popularity in China.
