With his career coming to a standstill following allegations of sexual misconduct in 2021, actor Armie Hammer is set to make a comeback to silverscreen with the lead role in Uwe Boll's upcoming film The Dark Knight.

He has also signed to star in Travis Mills' western film Frontier Crucible, also featuring Thomas Jane and William H Macy. He once again began working on films after the Los Angeles prosecutors giving him a clean chit and did not file sexual assault charges against Armie after LAPD's extensive probe.

The Dark Knight is scheduled to commence filming in Croatia on January 27.

Hammer has been a part of big films such as The Lone Ranger by Gore Verbinski, Luca Guadagnino's Call Me by Your Name and The Man from U.N.C.L.E. by Guy Ritchie.

The Dark Knight, based on Uwe Boll's script, follows a vigilante and social media sensation, Sanders (Hammer), who invites the opposition of the local police chief in that process.

The makers, according to Variety, clarified that the film will be a completely different one from Christopher Nolan's film and there is no danger of confusion.

Boll, who is basking in the success of his crime drama First Shift and migrant crisis thriller Run, is also producing The Dark Knight. The rest of the star cast and technical crew is expected to be announced soon by the makers.
