A film based on the NBC fantasy cop series Grimm is in development at Peacock. It is reportedly a reboot of the series. Josh Berman of Drop Dead Diva fame is attached to the project as its writer. Berman also serves as an executive producer alongside Grimm showrunners Jim Kouf and David Greenwalt, in addition to Todd Milliner and Sean Hayes from the original series. The production banners behind the project are Universal Television and Milliner’s Hazy Mills Productions.

The makers are yet to reveal story and cast details. In the series, David Giuntoli plays Nick Burkhardt, a Portland Homicide Detective who learns that he is a guardian meant to safeguard the equilibrium between mythical creatures called Wesen and humans. The cast of Grimm also includes Silas Weir Mitchell, Russell Hornsby, and Bitsie Tulloch, among others.

This is the first reboot of Grimm, but NBC had considered reviving the series through a spinoff in 2018. It was supposed to expand on the mythology of Grimm and bring back fan-favourite characters while introducing new ones. However, the spinoff idea did not materialise.
