Jodie Foster bags Golden Globe for True Detective: Night Country

Foster joined the series in the fourth season, with the seasons 1, 2 and 3 starring Matthew McConaughey, Rachel McAdams and Mahershala Ali in the lead roles respectively

Actor Jodie Foster won the Golden Globe for Best Actress in a Limited Series or Motion Picture category for the series True Detective: Night Country, by Issa Lopez.

Her award acceptance had a light moment with Sofia Vergara yelled, "No, no! Give me one!". The actor was nominated for the category for her crime drama series Griselda, based on the true story of Griselda Blanco, a Colombian drug lord of the 80s. This marks Sofia's fifth nomination and fifth loss.

Foster remarked in her speech that it was important to have a community of people like Sofia. She went on to thank her wife Alexandra Hedison and her kids.

The six-episode season also starred Kali Reis, Fiona Shaw, Finn Bennett, Isabella Star LaBlanc, Christopher Eccleston and John Hawkes. The series streamed from January 14 to February 18 in 2024.
