Finally, the makers of Epic have announced the film's release date. Anand Deverakonda and Vaishnavi Chaitanya are playing the lead pair in this romantic entertainer, for which the makers unveiled the promotional content some time ago. Produced by Naga Vamsi and Sai Soujanya under the Sithara Entertainments and Fortune Media banners, the film is directed by Aditya Haasan.
The makers have now announced that the film will hit the screens on September 11. Anand Deverakonda and Vaishnavi Chaitanya earlier starred together in the cult hit Baby, and that has generated curiosity around Epic. The film carries the tagline First Semester.
Aditya Haasan became popular with his web series 90s – A Middle Class Biopic, starring Sivaji, Vasuki and Mouli Tanuj Prasanth, who played their son. The series turned out to be a huge success and made Aditya Haasan one of the most sought-after young filmmakers. He is now making his directorial debut with Epic.
Interestingly, Epic is a spin-off of Aditya Haasan's web series 90s – A Middle Class Biopic. Sivaji and Vasuki, who played the parents in the web series, reprise similar roles in Epic as Anand Deverakonda's parents. A major portion of the film was shot abroad, as required by the story.
This film is important for Vaishnavi Chaitanya, as she hasn't tasted much success after the cult hit Baby. She acted in a couple of films, but they failed to perform well at the box office. For Anand Deverakonda, Epic marks his return to theatres after more than two years. He was last seen in Gam Gam Ganesha (2024), which was a moderate success.
Expectations are quite high for Epic, mainly because Anand Deverakonda and Vaishnavi Chaitanya are reuniting after Baby. Moreover, the teaser received a good response from the audience, indicating that the film is set to be an engaging romantic entertainer.
