Actor Demi Moore won the Golden Globe for the Best Actress in a Motion Picture—Musical or Comedy—for The Substance, directed by Coralie Fargeat.

In the star-studded event, Moore gave a moving award acceptance speech stating how important it is to get an acknowledgement as an actor. She said that thirty years ago a producer called her a "popcorn actress" whose film will make a lot of money and turn a blockbuster but she wouldn't be acknowledged.

She further said that she thought "this was it" and she has done everything she was supposed to do before The Substance's script came to her, which she describes as "magical bold courageous out of the box absolutely bonkers."

On battling self-doubts, Demi said she had a woman telling her, "You will never be enough, but you can know the measure of your work if you just put down the measuring stick" whenever she felt she was not enough.

Demi Moore bettered Mikey Madison (Anora), Zendaya (Challengers), Cynthia Erivo (Wicked), Amy Adams (Nightbitch) and Karla Sofia Gascon (Emilia Perez).
