Popular for her lead role in the reboot of Charlie's Angels, actor Ella Balinska will play the lead in director Greg McLean's meta action horror film The Horror Game.

McLean, who helmed Daniel Radcliffe starrer Jungle and Wolf Creek series, will direct the film from Gus Krieger's script. The Horror Game is expected to go on floors later this year.

The Horror Game is about a young woman (Balinska) and her friends getting stuck in a virtual reality game while searching for her missing sister. The game necessitates the participants to survive through each level of different genres of a horror film. Realising that death in the game will cause death in real life, the friends decide to fight back against the mastermind of all of this.

Hailing Ella, Mclean says that the actor "radiates the intelligence, prowess and charisma" of the lead character Gemma.
