Scott Waugh, of Need for Speed and Expendables 4-fame, is directing an action film titled Runner, based on a screenplay by Tommy White and Miles Hubley. Owen Wilson and Alan Ritchson are set to star in the film, principal photography of which is expected to commence in Australia this March. Ritchson plays a courier in a race against time as he transports a person donating an organ for a girl who requires a transplant. It becomes a dangerous situation when a crime syndicate leader insists on getting the same body part. The film will star Wilson as Ben, the donor whom Ritchson's courier must transport and safeguard.

Director Waugh stated, "This pairing is something I believe audiences have been hungry for, and we strive to achieve the unexpected from the page-turner script that Miles and Tommy delivered."

Ritchson's upcoming projects also include the Netflix film War Machine, which he recently wrapped. He also stars in and produces The Man with the Bag, director Adam Shankman's film also featuring Arnold Schwarzenegger in a key role.

On the other hand, Wilson is in production for director Jeremy Garelick's comedy film Rolling Loud. The actor also has a yet-to-be-titled series for Apple TV in the pipeline.
