The Ice Age herd is back — and this time, things are heating up.

At the Destination D23 event in Orlando on Saturday, Disney officially revealed that the sixth film in the long-running franchise will be titled Ice Age: Boiling Point. The studio also confirmed the adventure will storm into theatres on February 5, 2027.

The film’s newly unveiled logline teases, “Ice Age: Boiling Point is a dinosaur-and-lava-filled madcap adventure that takes Manny, Sid, Diego, Ellie, Scrat and the rest of the herd to visit never-before-seen corners of the treacherous Lost World.”

Returning to voice the beloved characters are Ray Romano as Manny, Queen Latifah as Ellie, John Leguizamo as Sid, Denis Leary as Diego, and Simon Pegg as Buck.

First launched in 2002, the Ice Age series has spawned multiple sequelsThe Meltdown (2006), Dawn of the Dinosaurs (2009), Continental Drift (2012), and Collision Course (2016), the latter grossing nearly $409 million worldwide. The franchise also expanded with spinoffs like The Ice Age Adventures of Buck Wild (2022) and the Disney+ short series Scrat Tales (2022).

In addition to the Ice Age announcement, Disney Animation also confirmed its next original feature, Hexed. The film “follows an awkward teenage boy and his Type-A mom, who discover that what makes him unusual might just be magical powers that will turn their lives and a secret world of magic upside down.” Hexed is slated to release in November 2026.
