Blake Lively, last seen in Another Simple Favor, is collaborating with the film's studio, Lionsgate, for her next, The Survival List, which she will star in and produce. Wicked producer Marc Platt will also produce this new feature.

An action romantic comedy, The Survival List has a script penned by Tom Melia. The story follows Annie, a high-end reality TV producer, who's reluctantly paired with Chopper Lane, a charismatic survival expert, for a new show. But when they're stranded on a deserted island after a shipwreck, Annie discovers Chopper's a fake. With no choice but to work together, they must rely on Annie's resourcefulness to survive, and in the process, they develop an unexpected connection.

Having been in the spotlight due to the legal battle against Justin Baldoni, Lively is more focused on turning the attention to her career, as she is in search of good content to work on. In Another Simple Favor, Paul Feig's sequel to his A Simple Favor, she starred alongside Anna Kendrick.

Platt comes fresh off the success of Wicked: Part 1 and is currently gearing up for the release of Wicked: For Good on November 21. He not only produces the film adaptations but also the long-running show. A veteran producer, he recently backed the live-action take of How to Train Your Dragon, which was a great success commercially.

Melia is a British writer known for co-writing the comedy Rye Lane, which premiered at the Sundance Film Festival and earned notable recognition, including 16 BIFA nominations and a BAFTA nod for Outstanding British Film. Her other credits include writing for Sky's Brassic and Bloods series.
