With the recent premiere of Another Simple Favor on Prime Video, Paul Feig is already ready with ideas for more sequels in the franchise. Starring Blake Lively and Anna Kendrick, the film is a sequel to the 2018 film, A Simple Favor.
Known for films like Bridesmaids and Spy, Feig says he has ideas for both Emily Nelson (Lively) and Stephanie Smothers (Kendrick).
In an interview with People, he said, "I definitely know where I want it to go. We'll see if everybody wants to do a third one. It was too much fun — I would love to get back together with this group and these characters and send them on an even weirder international adventure, if possible.”
When speaking about the setting of the third film, Feig added, "I think we need to take them out into the world even more." Another Simple Favor itself took the characters from a small town in Connecticut to the picturesque island Capri in Italy.
Another Simple Favor ends with Stephanie becoming a celebrated true-crime author after exposing Emily's triplet sister Charity. As Stephanie cares for Emily's son Nicky, Emily secretly lives in Rome under the watchful eye of her crime-boss mother-in-law Portia. Portia gives Emily an envelope with a mysterious request, leaving the audience wondering what new favor Emily will have to cater to.
Written by Jessica Sharzer and Laeta Kalogridis, Another Simple Favor is based on the characters penned by Darcey Bell. Producers include Feig and Laura Fischer of Feigco Entertainment, while Jennifer Booth, Jessica Sharzer, and Marco Valerio Pugini are executive producers.
