Doug Liman's upcoming thriller, Asteroid, has found its star cast. According to Deadline, Hailee Steinfeld, Freida Pinto, Ron Perlman, DK Metcalf, Rhenzy Feliz, and Leon Mandel, are set to star in the thriller.

Described as an XR thriller, Asteroid will also be produced by Liman under his 30 Ninjas Production. Neil Parris, Marty Schulman, Juliana Tatlock, Jed Weintrob, and Jon Zepp. Google's 100 ZEROES is also producing the film in association with 30 Ninjas.

The film is set to premiere at the Venice Film Festival, after which it will release on Google's Android XR platform. XR is a shorthand for Extended Reality, which is an encompassing term for Virtual Reality (VR), Augmented Reality (AR), and Mixed Reality (MR) technologies.

Asteroid will follow a group of strangers who risk their lives and volunteer to travel to an asteroid, near Earth, to mine for materials, that will render them wealthy.
