Actor Jackie Chan expressed his reservations about the emphasis on the commercial aspects of Hollywood films today in place of their quality. Speaking at the Locarno Film Festival the other day, Chan said that studios in Hollywood invest millions on the types of projects they expect big returns from. "It's very difficult to make a good movie now," said the actor in an interactive session at the festival, which presented him with a lifetime achievement award.

Chan is most popular for performing risky action sequences in his films, a bit like Tom Cruise. He has also dabbled in direction and penned autobiographies, as well as serving as a producer and a stunt coordinator. Talking about his career, Chan revealed that Sammo Kam-Bo Hung is the only other multifaceted artist in Asia who is similar to him. "In all of Asia, only two directors can do everything: the writing, directing, acting, stunt coordinating, stunt fighting, and editing. One is Sammo Hung, the second one is Jackie Chan," stated the actor known for films such as the Police Story franchise, The Fearless Hyena, and Who Am I?

The actor also revealed that he is learning how to sing to expand his repertoire. Highlighting the risk involved in doing stunts on his own, Chan revealed that he felt the need to learn music to help ensure that he has more to do in his future films.
