Kristen Wiig has boarded Cut Off, the upcoming comedy from director Jonah Hill who also stars in the film, reports Variety. Reportedly, Wiig and Hill are set to portray an affluent couple whose parents force them to provide for themselves by cutting off their endless supply of money. Hill directs the film for Warner Bros with a screenplay he has written alongside Ezra Woods.

Warner Bros has slated Cut Off for a July 17, 2026, release in theatres. Hill is also producing the film through his banner Strong Baby alongside Ali Goodwin and Matt Dines. It reunites Wiig and Hill after their collaboration on films such as Knocked Up, Forgetting Sarah Marshall, the How to Train Your Dragon franchise, and the Sausage Party film series. They also worked together on the Saturday Night Live sketch Liza Minnelli Tries to Turn Off a Lamp.

Wiig is getting ready for the second season of the Apple TV+ series Palm Royale, in which she stars in the main role and serves as an executive producer. She also plays the main villain in Gabby’s Dollhouse: The Movie, which Universal Pictures is releasing in September. She also reunites with her Ghostbusters costar Bill Murray on Max Barbakow's next comedy film titled Epiphany.

On the other hand, Hill's upcoming projects include Outcome, featuring Keanu Reeves, Matt Bomer, and Cameron Diaz in key roles. Besides directing Outcome from his screenplay, Hill produces it for Apple Studios.
