Actor-politician Smriti Irani, who has come back to television with the iconic soap Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi 2, took to her social media handles to praise Brad Pitt's recent sports drama F1 and called it a "must watch."

She wrote on her Instagram, "Must watch F1 if you haven’t already (I did twice).. watch if you love stories of the underdog, if you are a has been that never was, if you like to see an unlikely winner, if you can carve victory out of a loss."

She also heaped praise at cinematographer Deepak Malvankar for his exceptional work in the Hindi TV serial. She shared her 'Tulsi' look from Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi along with Malvankar, who seems to be explaining a scene to the actress.

Smriti wrote: "What you see on screen is an actor at work. What you feel on screen—that’s Deepak Malvankar, cinematographer par excellence. The man in the shadows who lights up every frame, dreams in colour, and breathes life into the lifeless. Strange, perhaps, to see a TV show mentioned in the same breath as an international blockbuster." She also added, "But that’s the magic of craft—when it’s driven by love, scale doesn’t matter. Be it a daily soap or Formula 1, passion makes everything cinematic."

F1 follows a former Formula One driver Sonny Hayes (Pitt) who returns from retirement to mentor and team up with a rookie Joshua Pearce (Damson Idris). He goes head-to-head with him, and struggles to succeed. Javier Bardem and Kerry Condon also star in the film.

Many real-life Formula One drivers are also part of the film as themselves, including Max Verstappen, Lewis Hamilton, Lando Norris, and Fernando Alonso, among others.

Our CE review of the film read, "F1 is a simple and neatly structured sports drama with familiar character tropes but it still adds enough freshness into the mix to make us care about what happens beyond the tracks."

First aired in 2000, Kyunki... ran for over 1,800 episodes till 2008. The Ektaa Kapoor-created show transformed Indian TV storytelling with its sweeping joint family saga, cementing Tulsi Virani as a household name. It focused on Tulsi, a simple and idealistic young woman who marries into the powerful and conservative business clan.
