Nicholas Duvernay, best known for his work in The White Lotus season 3, has signed on to star in Colleen Hoover’s Reminders of Him adaptation from Universal Pictures.
The up and coming actor will be joining an ensemble cast consisting of actors Rudy Pankow, Maika Monroe, Lauren Graham and Tyriq Withers in the Universal Pictures’ adaptation.
Hoover and Lauren Levine have penned the script which Vanessa Caswill is set to direct. Reminders of Him tells the story of Kenna Rowan, who goes back to her hometown after serving a five-year prison sentence, seeking redemption and a reunion with her young daughter. Despite facing resistance from everyone except local bar owner Ledger Ward, Kenna forms a connection with him, but their blossoming romance risks jeopardising her chances of rebuilding her life and healing from past mistakes.
DuVernay will portray Roman, a bartender at Ward’s Bar, which is owned by Ledger Ward—the closest friend of Kenna’s late boyfriend, Scotty—who hires her after she is released from prison.
The book, first published in 2022, has sold 6.5 million copies globally, and has been translated into 45 languages. It is said to be a "transformative feature about motherhood, forgiveness, and the power of one love to heal even the most shattered heart."
Apart from penning the screenplay, Hoover and Levine will be producing through their Heartbones Entertainment. Also producing is Little Engine Productions' Gine Matthews. Robin Fischella will serve as an executive producer. Apart from Reminders of Him, Hoover's Verity and Regretting You are also being adapted into feature films.
Before starring in The White Lotus, DuVernay starred in Netflix’s popular romantic drama Purple Hearts and was featured in Peacock’s Bel-Air, a reimagining of The Fresh Prince. His other credits include roles in The Winchesters, Tyler Perry’s Assisted Living, The Rookie, Magnum P.I., S.W.A.T., and All American.
