Earlier, we reported about The Substance star Margaret Qualley reprising her lesbian detective character in Honey Don't!, the second instalment in filmmaker Ethan Coen's so-called 'lesbian B-movie' series. The latest from the project, which also stars Chris Evans and Aubrey Plaza, is that it is slated for an August 22 release in theatres. The first film in the series, namely Drive-Away Dolls, did not fare well at the box office and critically, but Qualley, eagerly awaiting the second part, recently described her character Honey as being suave and mysterious. The film reunites her and Coen with the latter's writer spouse Tricia Cooke after last year's Drive-Away Dolls. Coen and Cooke penned the screenplay for the film. Tim Bevan and Eric Fellner are producing the film under their Working Title banner, alongside Coen, Cooke, and Robert Graf.
Billy Eichner and Charlie Day are also part of the film's cast. The plot follows Qualley's private detective who investigates mysterious deaths associated with a church.
