Filmmaker Ethan Coen and actor Margaret Qualley are reuniting for Honey Don’t!, the second film in their so-called 'lesbian B-movie' series. The first film in the series, namely Drive-Away Dolls, did not fare well at the box office and critically. However, Qualley is looking forward to the second instalment. Qualley described her titular and lesbian private eye Honey as being "more suave" and "more mysterious" than herself. Describing herself as someone who wants to diffuse a situation before it even takes place, The Substance star told i-D that Honey is "skillful" and "smooth" enough to slip "in and out undetected". The actor also explained that she needed to shun the "Scooby-Doo" instincts that come to her naturally to portray the detective character in the film.

“No girl needs to be taught how to be a detective. Women know what’s happening even when they don’t know what’s happening. I remember in my early twenties, especially, my investigative skills on Instagram were really out of control. It’s a combination of tools, craft, and gut instinct,” Margaret Qualley further added.

The actor also lauded director Coen and his co-writer Tricia Cooke, underscoring that their work together has been different from her previous collaborations. "They respect and love each other so much. I love the world that they’re living in," Qualley said.

Coen and Cooke recently teased a third film in the series. Speaking about the prospect of that film materialising, Qualley stated that the makers are yet to reach out to her regarding it and that she is yet to read its screenplay. She also added that she would be "offended" and "upset" if she is not part of the project.
