Kate Hollowell to make her directorial debut with Something Murdered

With the plot not known yet, it is expected that Kate will rewrite the original idea of Liz Benham

Short film director Kate Hollowell is set to make her feature debut with Something Murdered for Amblin Entertainment. Amblin is producing the film with Chad Villela, with Benham, Matthew Bettinelli-Oplin, and Tyler Gillett serving as executive producers.

Kate has directed short films such as Are They Smiling? (2020), Tecovas: Check 'Em Out (2023), and last year's Say Hi After You Die. She has also made music videos like Katy Perry's 'Champagne Problems' and 'Number One Popstar.' Her accolades include the Sundance Short Film Jury Award (2024) for Say Hi After You Die. Apart from music and short films, Kate has also worked in theatre. Benham's sketches and shorts have collectively garnered 15 million views. Her work's reach resulted in her appearances in popular TV shows such as ABC's 'Right this Minute', Fox's 'Laughs', and Hulu's 'The Daily Buzz'.
