Corresponding to the mixed to negative reviews that Megalopolis has been receiving since its release, the Francis Ford Coppola latest feature is heading for a collosal flop at the box-office, some reports suggest.

However, the reports wouldn't have shocked the veteran director as it would the cinema fans, as he kept maintaining right from the beginning that he is not concerned about the money the film makes. The film that he began developing in the late 1970s has been fashioned as 'a grand personal statement about human possibility.'

Topping the box office in US and Canadian theatres, The Wild Robot is said to have received a huge opening with $35 million in ticket sales in both countries. Audiences and critics praised the film, adapted from Chris Sanders' adaptation of Peter Brown's bestseller, which is about a shipwrecked robot who raises an orphan gosling.

In a more relevant development for the Indian film industry, Comscore, a global media measurement and analytics company, revealed that Jr NTR's latest outing, Devara: Part 1, has grossed $5.1 million over the weekend. The film is placed fourth behind The Wild Robot ($35 million), Beetlejuice Beetlejuice ($16 million), and Transformers One ($9.3 million). The other positions in the top 10 grossers of the weekend are occupied by Speak No Evil ($4.3 million), Megalopolis ($4 million), Deadpool & Wolverine ($2.7 million), My Old Ass ($2.2 million), Never Let Go ($2.2 million), and The Substance ($1.8 million).
