'Batman' gets a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame

The superhero franchsie, created by DC Comincs, has also lead to spin-offs of supporting characters like the Joker.

Batman became the first ever superhero character to get a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. With this, the 'Caped Crusader' became the 20th fictional character to be indicted to the Walk of Fame, joining characters like The Simpsons and Godzilla. Mickey Mouse was the first ever fictional character to receive a star on the same.

“Fans from around the world will be thrilled to know that Batman will have his star dedicated next to the stars of television’s Batman, Adam West, and the co-creator of Batman, Bob Kane,” stated Ana Martinez, Producer of the Hollywood Walk of Fame.

The first-ever Batman character on film was played by Lewis Wilson in the1943 theatrical serial Batman. The character of Bruce Wayne / The Batman has been played by several actors following that, including Michael Keaton (1989-1992), Val Kilmer (1995), George Clooney (1997), Christian Bale (2005-2012), Ben Affleck (2016-2023), and Robert Pattinson (2022 onwards). The highest grossing Batman movie ever is the 2012 Christopher Nolan film The Dark Knight Rises, which collected over a billion dollars at the box office. The superhero franchise, created by DC Comics, has also led to spin-offs of supporting characters like the Joker.
