Netflix unveiled the teaser for Woman of the Hour, the directorial debut of Anna Kendrick, starring the actor in the lead role, on Tuesday. Written by Ian MacAllister McDonald, the film is based on the true story of Rodney Alcala, a convicted serial killer who made a chilling appearance on The Dating Game TV show in 1978, during the time period when he committed his crimes.

The teaser shows Kendrick on a date with a man who is initially charming, but it is too late when she realises that he is not whom she thinks he is. The official synopsis reads, "Rodney Alcala was a killer in the midst of a killing spree when he brazenly took part and won a date on the popular TV game show The Dating Game."

Daniel Zovatto stars as Rodney Alcala in Woman of the Hour which also features Nicolette Robinson, Tony Hale, Kathryn Gallagher, Kelley Jakle, and Autumn Best in supporting roles.

Woman of the Hour premiered at the Toronto International Film Festival on September 8, 2023. Produced by AGC Studios, Vertigo Entertainment, and BoulderLight Pictures, the film is distibuted by Netflix.

Woman of the Hour is all set to premiere on Netflix on October 18.
