As the Prime Video Lord of the Rings series The Rings of Power crosses the halfway mark on its second season, Robert Aramayo, who plays the elf Elrond, shared his thoughts on his character.

Aramayo said, "It’s a much more desperate season. There is a battle scene in this season and shooting it was really, really tough. I have spent months training in the stunt gym in preparation to deliver Elrond’s debut as a warrior. There were things I didn’t think I would be able to do. It was really nice to get into these stunts, but also having Elrond change throughout the season: physically, emotionally, mentally. He looks different by the end of the season. He looks older."

The season sees Elrond at a crossroads between himself, his friend Galadriel (Morfydd Clark) and Gil-galad (Benjamin Walker), where Elrond is sceptical about the rings of power. The second season follows Sauron's exploits as he tries to gain control of Middle Earth. Five episodes have been released, and three more will follow, with the season finale premiering on October 3.
