The sequel to Inside Out (2015) won critical and commercial acclaim upon its theatrical release in June this year.

Inside Out 2 won praise for its adept handling of psychology by creating characters like 'Envy', 'Embarassment', 'Ennui', and 'Anxiety' aptly capturing the mindset of teens through the film's lead character Riley, who turns a teen in the second installment.

Our CE review of the film read, "The film is more than just about keeping the emotions in check. Through its deep psychological understanding, the film ponders upon the several complexities of our mind and delivers a philosophical rumination on how we shape our own identity."

While it was widely believed that towards the end of the film it was suggested that Riley showed signs of same-sex attraction. But recent reports have emerged that Disney made notes to make Riley look "less gay," as they attributed the financial failure of Lightyear to the queer kiss.

Released on June 14, the Kelsey Mann directorial follows Riley, now a teenager, as she faces new emotional challenges, with her core emotions struggling to adapt to the arrival of Anxiety (Maya Hawke), Envy (Ayo Edebiri), Nostalgia (June Squibb), Ennui (Adèle Exarchopoulos) and Embarrassment (Paul Walter Hauser), leading to a battle for control over her mind and sense of self. Meanwhile, the old emotions Joy (Amy Poehler), Sadness (Phyllis Smith), and Anger (Lewis Black) try to help Riley.

Kensington Tallman had replaced Kaitlyn Dias to voice Riley, while Diane Lane and Kyle MacLachlan have returned to voice her parents.

The supporting voice cast of Inside Out 2 also includes Sarayu Blue, Flea, Ron Funches, Dave Goelz, James Austin Johnson, Bobby Moynihan, Frank Oz, Paula Pell, Paula Poundstone, John Ratzenberger, Kendall Coyne Schofield, Kirk Thatcher and Yong Yea.
