Nickel Boys Trailer: Friendship of two Black boys in a depressing reform school

The film, set to open the New York Film Festival, will release in select theatres on October 25

The trailer video of Amazon MGM Studios' Nickel Boys by filmmaker RaMell Ross was released on Thursday by makers.

The film, based on Pulitzer Prize-winning novel by Colson Whitehead, chronicles the powerful friendship between two young African American men navigating the harrowing trials of reform school together in Florida.

Nickel Boys' cast includes Ethan Cole Sharp, Sam Malone, Najah Bradley, Aunjanue Ellis-Taylor, Ethan Herisse, Jimmie Fails, and Peter Gabb in prominent roles. The technical crew of the film has music composers Scott Alario and Alex Somers, cinematographer Jomo Fray, and editor Nicholas Mansour. Ross has written the film's screenplay with Joslyn Barnes.

Nickel Boys is produced by Barnes, Dede Gardner, Jeremy Kleiner, and David Levine, while Brad Pitt, Chadwick Prichard, Gabby Shepard, and Whitehead serving as the executive producers.
