We had earlier reported that Sydney Sweeney and Amanda Seyfried are set to star in a film adaptation of Freida McFadden's popular novel, The Housemaid. The latest update is that It Ends With Us star Brandon Sklenar has joined the cast of the film. Paul Feig, known for his work on films like Bridesmaids and A Simple Favor, will direct the film.

Sklenar, who recently appeared opposite Blake Lively in It Ends With Us, a global box office hit, will play the role of Andrew, a wealthy husband in the film. In the psychological thriller, Sweeney will take on the role of Millie, a young woman who accepts a position as a housemaid to a wealthy couple, Nina (Seyfried) and Andrew (Sklenar). However, “Millie soon learns the family’s secrets are far more dangerous than her own,” reads the official plotline.

The film is based on the bestselling novel by Freida McFadden, which sold over 3.6 million copies.

Screenwriter Rebecca Sonnenshine is adapting the novel for the film. Sweeney, the star of Euphoria and Anyone But You, and Seyfried, known for Mamma Mia and The Dropout, will serve as executive producers alongside Alex Young and McFadden.

Sklenar, who had a breakout role as Spencer Dutton in 1923 opposite Harrison Ford and Helen Mirren on Paramount+, continues to land key roles in major projects. He will also star in Drop, an upcoming film by Blumhouse/Universal, directed by Christopher Landon.
