The first trailer for A24's upcoming fantasy film The Legend of Ochi has been unveiled and it promises an adventure like never before, replete with Willem Dafoe in a spear and a monster that looks akin to a soft toy.

Directed by Isaiah Saxon, who has several music videos to his credit, in his directorial debut, the film will tell the story of a young girl, played by Zengel, who runs away from home and learns to talk to a rare species of an animal named Ochi.

The film, also starring Finn Wolfhard and Emily Watson in prominent roles, will have an original screenplay by Saxon, and will feature an original score by Dave Longstreth, who has earlier worked with Saxon on several projects.

The Legend of Ochi will be produced by Saxon and Encyclopedia Pictura in association with Neighborhood Watch and Year of the Rat. The Russo Brothers will also be serving as executive producers while A24 will finance and distribute the film worldwide.

The film will be released in theatres on February 28, 2025.
