The story of Jesus' mother Mary is getting her own origin story in Netflix's new coming-of-age biblical epic Mary. Directed by DJ Caruso (I Am Number Four, Disturbia) and written by Timothy Michael Hayes, the film is set to hit the platform on December 6.

Starring Noa Cohen in the lead role as the titular character as Jesus' mother, the film also stars Ido Tako, Stephanie Nur, Susan Brown, Ori Pfeffer, Eamon Farren, Hilla Vidor, Mili Avital, Gudmundur Thorvaldsson, Dudley O’Shaughnessy, Keren Tzur, Mehmet Kurtulus, Mila Harris and Anthony Hopkins.

The official synopsis of the film reads, "Through Mary's eyes, this coming-of-age biblical epic tells the story of one of history’s most profound figures and the remarkable journey that led to the birth of Jesus.
