Lindsay Lohan and Jamie Lee Curtis come back after 22 years for the sequel to their body-swap comedy film, Freaky Friday

Disney has announced the release date for the second instalment of Freaky Friday. The Nisha Ganatra directorial, starring Jamie Lee Curtis and Lindsay Lohan, will release on August 08, 2025. Lohan and Curtis come back after 22 years for the sequel to their body-swap comedy film, Freaky Friday. Chad Michael Murray, Mark Harmon, Christina Vidal Mitchell, Haley Hudson, Lucille Soong, Stephen Tobolowsky, and Rosalind Chao also reprise their roles from the 2003 film.

Sophia Hammons, Julia Butters, The Good Place and The Acolyte star Manny Jacinto, and Never Have I Ever actor Maitreyi Ramakrishnan are the new additions to the cast.

The official logline reads, “A sequel to the beloved 2003 film with a multigenerational twist, the film picks up years after Tess (Curtis) and Anna (Lohan) endured an identity crisis. Anna now has a daughter of her own and a soon-to-be stepdaughter. As they navigate the myriad challenges that come when two families merge, Tess and Anna discover that lightning might indeed strike twice.”
