Production for the Peaky Blinders film has officially begun and Cillian Murphy is back to reprise his role as Thomas Shelby from the iconic series. Netflix shared first look photos from the set to confirm the same.

The feature-length drama is directed by Tom Harper based on a screenplay by Steven Knight, the creator and screenwriter of Peaky Blinders series. Apart from Murphy, the confirmed members of the cast include Barry Keoghan, Rebecca Ferguson and Tim Roth.

Comprising six seasons, the original Peaky Blinders series first premiered on BBC Two in 2013 and culminated in 2022. It is loosely inspired by the real-life youth gang Peaky Blinders and centres on the adventures of a gangster family in the late 1910s in England following World War I. It stars Murphy as Tommy Shelby, the most important family member, who makes all the big calls. Paul Anderson, Helen McCrory, Tom Hardy and Joe Cole lead the cast of the series.

The Peaky Blinders film is being produced by Caryn Mandabach, Knight, Murphy, and Guy Heeley, with executive producers Harper, David Kosse, Jamie Glazebrook, Andrew Warren, and David Mason also on board. Additionally, the film is being made in collaboration with BBC Film.
