The film adaptation of Michael Lewis' book Going Infinite: The Rise and Fall of a New Tycoon is under way, with Lena Dunham attached to the project to write the script.

Apple Studios and A24 are co-developing and co-producing the project. Going Infinite delves into the fascinating tale of the founder of the cryptocurrency exchange FTX, Sam Bankman-Fried. Criticised for the sympathetic portrayal of Bankman-Fried, Lewis' book seeks an answer with curiosity on why and how the youngest billionaire became one, as he was seen as a simple guy in cargo shorts and limp white socks. The book also explores the world of high-frequency trading, cryptocurrencies, and philanthropy, providing a comprehensive understanding of the complex financial landscape.

The book that follows the rise and fall of the Bankman-Fried begins with the founding of FTX in 2019 and the discovery of billions of dollars going missing when several customers attempted to withdraw their money at once in 2022, which resulted in his indictment and was levelled with charges of several types of fraud and money laundering.

Dunham has to her credit creating, starring in, directing and executive producing the HBO series Girls, for which she received eight Emmy Award nominations and a Golden Globe. She is also known for Camping and Generation. She is working with Netflix for an upcoming rom-com series Too Much, starring Megan Stalter and Will Sharpe. Dunham co-created the show along with her husband, Luis Felber.
