An upcoming documentary that lifts the lid on corruption charges against Benjamin Netanyahu is hitting US theatres, defying attempts by the Israeli leader to silence it. Director Alexis Bloom's The Bibi Files, with Oscar-winning Alex Gibney serving as the producer, utilises leaked footage of Netanyahu's police interrogations. These interrogations delve into accusations that the Israeli Prime Minister accepted lavish gifts, reportedly worth tens of thousands of dollars, in exchange for political favors.

The Bibi Files is eyeing an Academy Award-qualifying run, kicking off this Friday at the Laemmle Monica Center in Santa Monica, California. Director Bloom and producer Gibney will be present for Question and Answer sessions following its Friday and Saturday screenings. Notably, Ben Rhodes, the co-host of Pod Save America and former deputy national security advisor under Obama, will co-host the session on Saturday.

The documentary's theatrical release will follow at the IFC Center in New York on December 11, which also marks its debut on Jolt.film, a brand-new streaming platform.

Reportedly, generating significant buzz, The Bibi Files premiered as a work-in-progress at the Toronto International Film Festival this October. Following a sold-out world premiere at DOC NYC this Thursday, a second screening has been added due to overwhelming demand, taking place on Sunday, November 17.
