Christopher Nolan's upcoming feature is shaping up well with leading actors joining the cast. According to the latest reports, Anne Hathaway and Zendaya have been cast in the film which also stars Matt Damon and Tom Holland in lead roles. Universal had no comment on the casting.
The yet-to-be-titled film is scheduled for a theatrical as well as an IMAX release on July 17, 2026. Plot details are currently under wraps. Nolan will not only direct but also write the screenplay, with his wife Emma Thomas producing under their Syncopy banner. The movie is expected to start shooting in early 2025.
This film would mark Zendaya's first collaboration with the acclaimed filmmaker, while Anne Hathaway is reuniting with him for the third time after The Dark Knight Rises (2012) and Interstellar (2014).
Zendaya, last seen in Luca Guadagnino's Challengers, will be joining hands with her real life partner Tom Holland for the untitled picture. Earlier, they had worked on the Spider-Man films - Spider-Man: Homecoming (2017), Spider-Man: Far from Home (2019) and Spider-Man: No Way Home (2021). They're also set to star together in the fourth instalment of the franchise, now being co-produced by Sony Pictures and Marvel Studios. Matt Damon is also reunite with Nolan after Interstellar and last year's Oppenheimer.
Hathaway, last seen in Michael Showalter's The Idea of You, has a busy schedule ahead with several exciting projects, including James Gray’s Paper Tiger, starring alongside Adam Driver and Jeremy Strong, Flowervale Street directed by David Robert Mitchell, Mother Mary with Michaela Coel, and the highly anticipated Princess Diaries 3 from Disney.
