Australian actor Mia Healey will join actor Djimon Hounsou in the upcoming horror-thriller The Monster, directed by the Saw franchise's Darren Lynn Bousman.

The film, made from a screenplay by Jonathan Bernstein and James Greer, who collaborated with Steven Soderbergh's Unsane, is produced by Lee Nelson and David Tish of Envision Media Arts, along with Saw franchise producer Mark Burg.

The Monster revolves around two millennials who con people into buying New York City apartments, which they don't own, for lease. Their con jobs go really well before they are faced with an apartment owner with a dark secret who flips the game on them.

Mia Healey has acted in the shorts Shark and My Heart Calls For You and the TV series The Wilds. Her upcoming TV series Motorheads is under post-production and is expected to begin streaming in 2025; she has also completed Black Spartans.

Apart from The Monster, Hounsou, who has to his credit Gladiator, Blood Diamond and Shazam!, will be seen in the second part of Gladiator, Last Breath and Beneath the Storm.
