Chris Hemsworth's representatives are negotiating with the producers of a new film, where the universes of GI Joe and Transformers will cross over, for a role in the project. Last year's Transformers: Rise of the Beasts teased the crossover film, and Paramount confirmed it at this year's CinemaCon.

While the crossover happened in Marvel comic books, it would be the first such occurrence for a theatrical film.

It would be the second role for Chris Hemsworth in a Transformers film ; his first role is for the animation film Transformers One where he voices for Optimus Prime's younger version Orion Pax.

Di Bonaventura, Michael Bay, Mark Vahradian, Don Murphy, and Tom DeSanto will produce this project, whereas Hasbro Entertainment and Steven Spielberg will serve as executive producers.
