Writer-director Robert Eggers' Nosferatu reimagining stars Bill Skarsgard as vampire Count Orlok, also known as Nosferatu. Actor Skarsgard has discussed the specifics of his role in an interview with Esquire's Madison Vain. Speaking to the journalist, Skarsgard said that the character he plays in the film is "gross," while adding, "But it is very sexualised. It is playing with a sexual fetish about the power of the monster and what that appeal has to you. Hopefully, you will get a little bit attracted by it and disgusted by your attraction at the same time.”

Nosferatu revolves around Skarsgard's vampire who is infatuated with a woman (Lily-Rose Depp) to such an extent that it leads to inexplicable horror. It is a reimagining of the 1922 film of the same name by FW Murnau. The film also stars Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Nicholas Hoult, Emma Corrin, Simon McBurney, and Ralph Ineson. Eggers produced the film with Chris Columbus, Eleanor Columbus, Jeff Robinov, and John Graham.

Nosferatu is slated for a December 25 release.

Skarsgard is also part of The Crow remake, where he plays Eric, a man who comes back from the dead to avenge his and his girlfriend's deaths.
