On day 4 of the Cannes Film Festival, it was announced that financing and production company Silver Reel roped in Eran Creevy to write and direct the upcoming feature The King of Sting.

Touted to be a crime action-comedy, The King of Sting is based on the 2010 novel The King of Sting: The Amazing True Story of a Modern American Outlaw, written by the real-life protagonist Craig Glazer and Sal Manna.

Sources close to the team reveal that Creevy's screenplay will be set in the US in the 1980s with Glazer's modern-day character taking the narration back and forth.

Claudia Bluemhuber of Silver Reel will develop, finance, and produce the film. The King of Sting will be executive produced by Florian Dargel, Alexander Jooss, Karol Griffiths, Gero Bauknecht, and Gerd Schepers.

Creevy, who made his debut with Shifty in 2008, recently directed two episodes of Netflix's The Gentlemen series. He is also known for making Collide and Welcome to the Punch.
