The makers of Presumed Innocent released its first trailer the other day. It starts with Gyllenhaal's character Rusty Sabich explaining what love means to him and soon offers glimpses of his intense relationship with his wife Barbara Sabich (Ruth Negga). The trailer ends with a grim-looking image of Sabich as someone talks to him about his wife's murder. From showrunner David E Kelley, Presumed Innocent is based on Scott Turow's courtroom thriller novel of the same name.

It is Gyllenhaal's first major role in a web series. The cast also includes Elizabeth Marvel and Bill Camp.

JJ Abrams' Bad Robot and Kelley's namesake banner are producing the limited series, which explores themes such as sex, politics, obsession, and love. Sharr White, Dustin Thomason, Bad Robot's Rachel Rusch Rich, and David E Kelley Productions' Matthew Tinker are also part of the executive production team. Anne Sewitsky and Greg Yaitanes are the directors.

Presumed Innocent will start streaming on Apple TV+ from June 12 onwards.
