John Leguizamo joins the cast of Firebug series

Hollywood actor John Leguizamo is the latest addition to the cast of Apple TV+ drama series Firebug.

Leguizamo will feature alongside the previously announced actors Taron Egerton and Jurnee Smollett. Kari Skogland of The Falcon and the Winter Soldier will direct the series, reported entertainment news outlet Variety.

Firebug is loosely inspired by a crime podcast of the same title, which was based around true events and incidents.

Leguizamo with play Esposito, a former policeman with a lot of bad habits and a lot of good instincts.

In addition to starring, Egerton will serve as executive producer alongside Richard Plepler through Eden Productions, Dan Friedkin and Bradley Thomas through Imperative Entertainment and Kary Antholis.

Leguizamo is known for his roles in films like To Wong Foo, Thanks for Everything! Julie Newmar (which earned him a Golden Globe nomination), Romeo + Juliet, Summer of Sam, Moulin Rouge, The Pest, the Ice Age franchise, and The Menu.
